Operations Manager

I joined IACS in December 2020 as Operations Manager, after a very varied 20-year working within operations management in a variety of industries. I began working in retail for a well-known supermarket and worked my way up through the management system there, but had set my sights on travelling and teaching. I decided to follow my heart and qualified as an English language teacher, teaching English to adults for nearly four years in South Africa, Italy and the UK.

I then returned to an operational role as Principal of an English language school in central London where I remained for more than 14 years. Unfortunately, the COVID 19 pandemic has not been very kind to language schools that require students to travel to the UK to study! As with many people, I decided to take control where I could and choose a new path in a different industry.

The gas pipeline industry is very different to the English language industry, but I am able to utilise many of the skills I have acquired during my career, like a passion for training and delivering great service.

Away from the office, I am a keen follower of most sports with a love of cricket, rugby, American Football and football and have been a season ticket holder for almost 20 years at the best team in London, West Ham United (well, I think so!) I love to cook, often testing new dishes on my wife and my two daughters. I love to travel, so you can usually find me reading books and scouring the internet planning my next trip.
